Simple H-Bridge Design

Postby epineh » Thu Oct 18, 2007 6:35 am

I am trying to design a simple H-Bridge design for a servo based system, I basically want to input PWM and NOT PWM and drive the full bridge. I have a design from a friend that I modified slightly based on IR2110 half bridge drivers and IRFZ44 MOSFET's. The advantage of this setup is that you could use two of them, and supply logic from a different board, say a L297 based board and have one pretty sturdy stepper driver.

With different configs you could go a lot higher voltage and current, also for the programming guru's a dedicated microcontroller control system could be the brains for a servo drive, I will be using EMC so it will take care of this side of things.

My problem is that I am a little out of my league with circuit design, and was wondering if there was any interest in making this open source and therefore a little (lot) better than what I would come up with. If it is kept to a H-Bridge only it can have a lot of different applications, stepper, servo and of course Robot Wars! :)

I hope to have a running prototype in the next two weeks, is there any interest in teaming up with this ?

OK looks like I didn't submit this to quite the right spot, but I couldn't get a new topic button on the open source design in progress heading, sorry Phil.

There may be some bugs. I've moved webhosts after just total frustration with my old webhost. I've got a lot of work to do to get things working right.
