Step Syn Steppers

Hi all, I am new to all of this. I have three Step Syn motors from an old printer that I would like to use for a cnc machine.
I built Alexander's 3 axis board and chopper board, but nothing seems to be working. Does anyone know where I can get the correct wiring for the motors? Is there any photos that I can look at, as I'm not good at electronics and trying to learn.

Specs: 2 x DC 2.6V, 3.1A 1.8deg/step
1 x DC 1.8V 3A 1./8deg/step
Wires: Black, white, blue, red, White+red, White+blue.
Power supply: 12V 3A for the motors and 6V 500mA for the PIC card.


P.S. I realy need something like "The dummies guide to cnc's"!

have you programmed the pics? have you tested the outputs?

Could you please explain an easy way to test output. Can I use some resistors and LEDs, or a multimeter?
